About The CARES Act

The CARES Act, which was signed into law by President Trump in March 2020, is a federal law that provides emergency relief measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CARES Act allocates $2.2 trillion in funds to address the health and economic impacts of the pandemic, including a number of provisions related to higher education and student aid.

The CARES Act includes provisions to provide financial relief to students who have been affected by the pandemic. These provisions include a suspension of federal student loan payments, interest, and collections through September 30, 2021. In addition, the Act provides for emergency financial aid grants to students who have experienced financial hardship as a result of the pandemic, including those who may not have been eligible for other forms of financial aid.
